LAZ Parking Adds Three More Garages To Its City of Syracuse Portfolio, Bringing Total to Five

05/13/2021

LAZ Parking announced today that it has been selected by the City of Syracuse, NY, to be the sole operator of its municipal parking garages. The addition of three municipal garages brings the total number being managed and operated by LAZ for the City of Syracuse to five. LAZ has run the City's Fayette Garage since 2009 and AXA Garage since 2014. Under the expanded contract, LAZ will also run the City's Washington Street Garage, Center Armory Garage, and the Madison-Irving Garage.

"LAZ is thrilled to have been selected by the City of Syracuse to run all five municipal parking facilities," said Alan Lazowski, Chairman and CEO of LAZ Parking. "It is an acknowledgment of the value and high level of service LAZ has delivered to the City and the trust that municipal leaders have in our ability to maintain that level of service in the future. This expansion of services will also allow us to grow our workforce and add jobs to the local economy, a crucial component of the nation's recovery from the pandemic."

Headquartered in Hartford, CT, LAZ is a privately owned parking company celebrating its 40th anniversary in business this year. As the second-largest, fastest-growing parking company in the country, LAZ has become a significant player in the New York Region's parking industry. LAZ provides parking services and solutions across various market segments, including Hospitality, Healthcare, Residential, Retail, and Events. LAZ has made significant upgrades to municipal garages in Syracuse, including side terminals allowing for payment by credit card. Monthly parking customers are now able to pay by credit card through their accounts on Lazparking.com. Later this year, LAZ is planning upgrades to its Subscription Billing platform, which will allow monthly parkers to manage their accounts online and access flexible, automatic payment options.

"Consolidating parking operations with LAZ is a positive step for both the City and the people using these garages," said Corey Driscoll Dunham, Chief Operating Officer of the City of Syracuse. "Partnering with LAZ will allow us to improve the user experience at these garages, including more convenient payment options at all five facilities."
