The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio has served thousands of families with children being treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, giving them support in their deepest time of need. The Red Shoe Society is a group of young professionals dedicated to supporting the efforts of the house through fundraising and volunteer events. Volunteers get up early to serve breakfast to those staying at the Ronald McDonald house.
Our very own Todd Rosen, RVP Ohio + Michigan was recently featured in a NBC4 spotlight on the organization. Todd got involved with the Red Shoe Society over two years ago. “It’s excellent. Obviously, it’s bigger than all of us. When I was in my twenties, I didn’t really volunteer – I didn’t give back. As I’ve gotten a little older, I’ve realized how important it is.” Todd recently served as co-chair of their annual A Toast to the House event. The red-carpet event, held every October, raised over $120,000 this year.
The Red Shoe Society also sponsors one of the rooms at the Ronald McDonald House, decorated with positive words by former Red Shoe Society members. “That’s the most rewarding part of all this – all the families that are here and need this comfort during their most difficult days. I can’t imagine what they go through. Seeing them in here, taking a little bit away from what’s going on across the street is the most important part of all.”
