Giving back to the community is an integral part of the LAZ culture, and this week, our Connecticut Operations team showed us how it’s done. Each Thanksgiving season, the LAZ Connecticut Operations office comes together to collect and donate turkeys to those in need. This year, for the 19th annual “Turkey Tuesday”, over a dozen LAZ team members dropped off nearly 300 turkeys at the event! LAZ Regional Vice President Jim Marzi says, “This is our 9th year supporting Foodshare and my entire team looks forward Turkey Tuesday every year. Being able to help families come together during the holiday season is truly a humbling experience.”
United Healthcare, in partnership with Foodshare, “Turkey Tuesday” is one of the largest Thanksgiving food collection days every year. The Greater Hartford community is invited to drop off turkeys and other food items, as well as monetary donations, to CityPlace in Downtown Hartford. The event was hosted by local radio host Brad Davis of WDRC’s “Talk of Connecticut”, which was broadcasting live from CityPlace, interviewing donors and local dignitaries. Thanksgiving is about being thankful for all that we have, and the best way to show our thanks is to give back.
