INDIGO RAID 2016

10/05/2016

Every other year, our European partner company, Indigo, hosts an intense competition where employees and business partners from all over the world gather in France for 2 days of challenges, fun, bonding, and team spirit.

This September, 275 Indigo employees came from 12 different countries to compete in the eighth Indigo RAID event held in Arcachon, France. LAZ was honored to send 6 LAZ employees from across the United States to represent the company and the country during these games.

45 teams found themselves at the La Forêt camping ground in Pyla-sur-Mer decked out in their own unique and creative uniforms, ready to throw themselves into physical and mental challenges as part of Indigo Raid 2016.In line with Indigo’s business strategy, the route was designed based on individual mobility, in many different settings, including several changes in modes of transport throughout the two days of challenges.

Events included:
-Crossing the Arcachon basin by boat
-Two-hour bike rally in Cap Ferret
-2.5 mile canoe ride across the ocean
-Box car race in wooden cars
-6.2 mile run including the ascent of the Pilat dune for the most daring and enthusiastic participants
-Puzzles and trivia questions to be solved

The range of RAID challenges were designed to allow all employees to take part, regardless of seniority, country of origin, or physical condition. Team LAZ came in 10th place out of 45 teams, making our company and the US very proud. Team Captain, Stephane Adovelande noted “I am thankful to work for a company like LAZ, who stands true to their mission and creates opportunity for their employees. The opportunity to travel to France with 5 other LAZ family members was truly special and unique. This was a once in a lifetime experience and one that none of us will soon forget.”
